Robbers, killers, beware! Spider-Man swings into skyscraper-hopping, wall-scaling, web-slinging action in this box set that gathers three previously released collections of episodes from the 1995 animated series: The Ultimate Villain Showdown, Return of the Green Goblin, and the misleadingly titled Daredevil vs. Spider-Man. The animation is an improvement over the original 1967 series; the villains (including Kingpin and the Green Goblin, who actually does look a little like Willem Dafoe in the live-action feature film) are comic-book favorites; and the writing is clever. Adding some hero star power are episodes featuring blind attorney Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, who is initially an adversary but becomes Spider-Man's partner in crime fighting. Each disc gets a nostalgic boost from the inclusion of bonus vintage episodes from the '67 series (which boasts the classic theme song) and episode intros by "Spidey" creator Stan Lee.--
